Approach
My approach is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic developments. It focuses on a profound respect for the human psyche and emotional life. Treatment targets the deeper causes of psychological distress to enable a person to better think, understand and address his or her life difficulties.
Many of my patients have found the psychoanalytic approach very helpful after having limited success with other forms of psychotherapy.

About Me
Kirby Ogden
After earning my PhD in Clinical Psychology in 1982 at the University of Georgia, I moved to Minneapolis and began work at Anoka State Hospital. I spent several years at the Hamm Clinic in St. Paul and then began private practice in 1991. I was certified in psychoanalysis in 1999, and have continued my development through working in consultation with other psychoanalysts from the U.S. and abroad. This enables me to provide patients with the most current and effective professional assistance. I am a member of the International Psychoanalytic Association, Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute, Psychoanalytic Center of California, and American Psychological Association. I currently teach at the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute.
